Intro to Japan

Objective: The HHG Tributes of 2018 will research and create a list of topics and events about medieval Japan that we'll be able to use to prioritize our medieval Japan unit.

1: Answer this Quick Question in with Google Moderator
If you were there… “You live in a small farming village on one of the islands of Japan. You’re very happy with your life. The sea is nearby and food is plentiful. You have a large, extended family to protect and take care of you. Your grandmother says that life in your village has not changed for hundreds of years, and that is good. But now you have heard that some people from across the sea are coming to your village. They are bringing new ideas and ways of doing things. Explain how you would feel about these possible changes."

2. Fact dig. Today your mission is to search the internet and find important topics and events (10 or more) all pertaining to medieval Japan (500 C.E. - 1500 C.E.). Please use this graphic organizer to complete keep track of all the information.

3. In the comment section, post the most interesting piece of information your learned from the internet hunt. Then, post on someone else's post about the thing they found most interesting.

Homework: Read about the geography of Japan and early Japan, taking notes on HW: Geography & Early Japan Notes (4/15). Then, watch the video below. There will be a quiz based on this information-- so make sure you understand geography's role in Japan.
