Day 8: Where 'ya' at? 'Whatcha' thinking? (9/13/2012)

Key Points:

1. Longitude and Latitude help determine geographic location.
2. Each location in the world can be described using longitude and latitude lines.
3. Sites like Blogger can help us communicate our ideas and show our work to others.

SS Objective: The HHG Tributes of 2018 understand the role of social media in creating, changing and accessing history.

DL Objective: The HHG Tributes of 2018 will be able to set up their account on blogger and change the background to an image of the college they want to attend.

Step 1: On a piece of paper, answer the following Quick Question: How might social media sites (ex. Facebook, Myspace, Blogger) be important to history?


Step 2: Discuss quick question and track this video on Egypt's Social Networking Revolution.

Step 3: Review Longitude and latitude homework.

Step 4: Today we will be able to get you registered for blogger so you can use the comment space to submit your DO NOW. Track the board as we watch a tutorial on setting on our Blog and then answer the quiz questions that follow.

Step 5: Track Ms. Kelly as she demonstrates how to set up your Blogger account.

Step 5: Complete your post.

Your posts should say "Welcome to my page! This is going to be the place where I post all my projects. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.".

Homework: Complete your first current event assignment.
