Day 13: Roman Contributions (9/20/2012)

Key Points:

1. The type of government in the Roman Empire changed.
2. The Roman Empire lasted for hundreds of years.
3. Creation myths are popular in many cultures.
4. Romulus and Remus are characters in the Roman creation myth.
5. The Roman empire contributed to western culture in many ways.


SS/DL Objective: The HHG tributes of 2018 will be able to create a Google document where they identify the Roman contribution and insert the example of where you can find that contribution today.

Task 1 DO NOW:
Quick Question: How did your family get to the Los Angeles area? When and why did they move here? Only share what you are comfortable sharing. :)


Task 2: Make a copy of this Roman Contributions graphic organizer.

Task 3: Track this video on Rise of Rome (1 of 5) as you complete your copy of the Roman Contributions.

Task 4: Raise your hand and participate in our Roman Contributions discussion and list the name of the contribution, the Roman contribution and modern exmaples.


Homework (Due 9/21 by 6:45 am): Read about architecture and engineering in the Roman Empire and complete the workbook page.
