Step 5: Copy this document to your History folder. We will be using it to take notes on important vocabulary. Which words do you already know? Are there any that are completely new? Start filling out the 2nd and 3rd columns of the organizer. Make sure you save your own copy!
- If you had not read the article, would you know what it was about?
- Did your partner use complete sentences and clear language?
- Did your partner include information from all of the sections of the text?
- What are some really great points that your partner mentioned?
- What should your partner have included to make the summary even better?
Step 3: Complete this pop quiz about last night's readings.
Step 4: Track Ms. Kelly as we go over how to copy documents so we can edit them, and how to put them in the history folder you shared with me.

This story was basically about the culture and events that happend in Roman culture. They touched upon the deadly sports and the cruel fights. They also touched upon the fact that they had Greek and Etruscan roots and/or background.
ReplyDeleteMy Summary is that when Rome was first built it was surrounded with water and mountains. Romans liked to watched people get killed and injured badly in fights.
ReplyDeleteLast nights homework was about the rise of Rome and some of the forms of "entertainment."I can't believe that if a slave won the race that execution was the prize!
ReplyDeleteWell the homework was about how Rome took some ideas from the Greeks. They used the sport slave fighting. they used certain stuff from the Greek language.
ReplyDeleteThe main points of last nights homework is how a Latin tribe created Rome, how their culture is, and the different sports and things they did.
ReplyDeleteA summary of the story is that the Etruscan were cruel they inherited things from other religions like Glaidiator fights and they beat and killed other people from different civilizations and the people they took in they had to buy them so rich people could have them a slave and the slaves would do all there work
ReplyDeleteI think the main idea of the text is that they are studying Rome and telling you about it in the text and also what year things happened in Rome
ReplyDeleteYesterday, I read about how the Etruscan got they're influence by the greeks. They got they influence by the greeks because of the way they built there houses.
ReplyDeleteThe homework is about how rome had there ways of doing things, and how they did them. And how they had there games how they won and got defeated in the Rome games.
ReplyDeleteLast night when we read the short story we found out that Romans got alot of their ideas from the Etruscan and since they were getting better at the ideas the Etruscan gave them the Romans got better at the jobs.
ReplyDeleteDid that cause a war between Romans and Etruscan?
Last night's reading was about the Etruscan losing their land becoming the Romans's land. It also talked about how the Etruscan lived during the events.
ReplyDeleteA summary of last nights homework was that Rome was influenced by the Greeks and The Etruscans. They used the Etruscans violent activities like chariot driving and slave fighting (which caused a lot of deaths) and they used the Greek alphabet and made their own.
ReplyDeleteThe roman learned how to build things from other people and the also played deadly games. And if somebody died two people had to fight and whoever won the would kill them .The gladiator also fought wild animals.
ReplyDeleteThe homework was about how Romans developed different cultures/ideas from their neighbors the Greeks and the Etruscans.
ReplyDeleteWhat I read about yesterday is the Romans were influenced by a lot of Greek and Etruscan habit mostly the Etruscan the Rome were influenced and copied the Etruscan bloody events like servant and gladiator fighting and the Romans were influenced by the Greek alphabet and created their own alphabet and the Romans had rich soil and planted a lot of food like the Etruscan and the Romans copied the Etruscan way by the Etruscan made good homes and structures so the Romans made homes and structures like temples and they made their structures even better than the way the Etruscan built stuff like houses.
ReplyDeleteSummary: Last night's homework was mainly about these three topics: 1. It reviewed Rome's extremely early history.2. It showed how the Etruscans influenced Rome. 3. It stated what traditions, ideas, and skills the Romans had obtained from the Etruscans.
ReplyDeleteWell,it was about how Rome toke over Etrscah and they toke their brutal sports such as gladitator fights the winner will be exacuted and even deadly sports.
ReplyDeleteLastnight i read about Etruscan Origins of Rome and i learned that they had slaves. They also went to chariot races, and slave fight. I thought it was dangerous for the slaves, but im sure they didn't care. I learned that they build things.
ReplyDeleteWhat last night's homework was about ancient Rome and how it started. It talked about how the the people of Rome learned from the Greek and they learned from them.
ReplyDeleteThe homework talked about how scientists never knew about the founding of Rome and how it started. But people say it started from a tribe of Etruscan. Then it grew into the empire we know today. The Romans copied from the Etruscan, especially in architecture. The Romans eventually surpassed the Etruscan in architecture. The Romans also copied entertainment from the Etruscan.
ReplyDeleteThe story was about how scientist had little information about that time but they use what they had about engraving and tomb finding. The Romans were greatly influenced by the Etrucans and the Greeks. They actually too 2 sports from the greek one was slave fighting they beat up their slaves with the knowledge they got for fighting in wars.I think the 2 sports were very life risking.

ReplyDeleteStarr,In last nights homework we read a story, highlighted keywords, and made comments. What was basically happened in the story is how historians have tried to uncover the truth about Rome. Also about the life of the Etruscans.
ReplyDeleteA brief summary of the story we read yesterday is that is that the Rome didn't know who their first king was. But what I don't understand is that if they don't know who their first king was who went to take over Rome? I also learned that they fought at funerals and whoever lost died and whoever won died and it doesn't make any sense to me because they would've died anyway. I also learned that they did chariot races and if they would fall off the horses they would get trambled by them.
ReplyDeleteRome's culture was somewhat gained from its neighbors the Etruscans & the Greeks. They learned how to build and have events like slave fighting and chariot races. They learned their alphabet from the Greeks and formed it to fit to them.
ReplyDeleteThe text was about how Rome was influenced by some Etruscan ideas Some of them were sporting events like gladiator fighting and chariot races. They also learned engineering techniques from Etruscans. They built temples homes and other structures based on the Etruscans ideas. They expanded on their ideas and they got better at these ideas than the Etruscans.

Rome traded foods and supplies with the Eutscans. Romen people got along with Eutscan very well.
