
Objective: The HHG Tributes of 2018 will be able to list key events in the spread of Islam during the 7th century and label a modern-day map of the area.
Step 1: Do Now. Complete the DO NOW section reviewing the founding of Islam.
Step 2: Class notes. We will use the same handout from the DO NOW to take notes on the spread of Islam after Muhammad's death.

Homework.
1) Paper copies only! Maps will be handed out in Study Hall.
Label the maps according to the directions on the paper copy of the homework.
Side 1: Color Africa red, Europe yellow, the Middle East green and water blue. You can use any resource!
Side 2: Color what you can see of Africa red, Europe yellow, and water blue then label these countries:

2) Study for Friday's Islam test. Topics on the test: the Story of Muhammad, the Five Pillars of Islam, the Qur'an and the Sunnah. You can study flashcards using District 3: Islam and play this quiz to review the five pillars of Islam. You can also find interesting facts and things to know about Islam. You should know the geography of the Middle East.
